Laws of gravity

An unspoken force prohibits you from persuing the direct path to the rooftop, so you search for an alternative route. Left, around, a dead end, back, around, always clockwise. You reach a narrow path between two walls, where a strange sensation creeps upon you. Seven steps further, it is as if the laws of gravity are about to fade away. Seven more steps, and your legs feel weightless, but your arms all the heavier. Yet another step, and your feet no longer stand on the ground. Instead, you are spiralling, in an upwards motion. Up, up, up.

As the effect passes away, you safely land inside a well-maintained garden. You stroll around for a few minutes, but the time you are permitted into the garden is limited. The same sensation soon captures you again, spiralling downwards and setting your down at the end of the prohibited path.
